Alejandro Agresti is an Argentine filmmaker, screenwriter, and former actor, born on June 2, 1961, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is best known for his work in films such as Valentin (2002), The Lake House (2006), and The Crimes That Bind (2020).

Agresti began his career in acting, appearing in popular Argentine television shows and movies in the 1980s. However, he soon transitioned into filmmaking and made his directorial debut with the short film Buenos Aires Vice Versa (1996). He went on to direct several other films, such as El Viento se llevó lo qué (1998), A Night with Sabrina Love (2000), and Nosotros Dos (2019).

Agresti has also worked as a director and screenwriter for international productions, including the Hollywood films The Lake House (2006) starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, and The Nines (2007) starring Ryan Reynolds. He has received critical acclaim for his work and has won numerous awards for his films, including the Guggenheim Fellowship, which he received in 1998.

Apart from film, Agresti is also a published author and has written several poetry collections and novels, including La Casa del Mar (2004) and La Nit en Turquía (2006). He currently resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
